Players With The Most FIFA World Cup Goals

Miroslav Klose

For the past eight years, former German striker Miroslav Klose has held the record for most World Cup goals scored. As he made 16 goals. Klose made his World Cup debut in 2002.

During the 2006 World Cup, in Germany, he added five more goals. He was awarded the Golden Boot. In addition, he scored four goals during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.


One of the greatest strikers of all time is Ronaldo. In his seven tournament appearances, he scored four goals. Four years later, at the FIFA World Cup in 2002, he made up for it by scoring eight goals in seven game.

Including winning against Germany in the championship game. In the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Ronaldo added three more goals to his total, and Brazil was eliminated by Germany in the quarterfinals. His total goal score is 15.

Gerd Muller

Many people consider Gerd Muller to be one of the best strikers in history. Even though he only participated in two World Cup competitions. he still managed to score 14 goals.

Muller is notable for having scored in each of his first five World Cup appearances. In 1970, he recorded hat tricks in back-to-back victories over Peru and Bulgaria.

Just Fontaine 

In the 1958 World Cup, French striker Just Fontaine scored all 13 of his tournament goals. He set the record for the most goals scored in a single World Cup. He scored four goals against Germany and a hat-trick against Paraguay.

Nevertheless, despite his exceptional goal-scoring rate. France came in third after losing to Brazil in the semi-finals.


Pele, who is one of the all-time great players. He played for the Brazilian team that dominated international competition in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Over four World Cups, he has scored 12 goals. He is the youngest player to ever score in a World Cup and  holds this distinction proudly.
