Morocco part ways with Coach Vahid Halilhodzic before FIFA World Cup

Just three months before the FIFA World Cup 2022, Morocco part its way with their Coach Vahid Halilhodzic. The coach has been with the team since the year 2019. Halilhodzic has been fired by a team he helped qualify.

The fall out with the coach appears to be because of how the coach handled the two players. The announcement is made by the Moroccan Football federation.

Why did Morocco part ways with Coach Vahid Halilhodzic?

The Morocco football federation let go the coach with a mutual understanding. The team parted ways because of the coach’s fall out with with star midfielder Hakim Ziyech and Noussair Mazraoui.

Reportedly, the coach accused Chelsea player of missing out a match and faking an injury. The football federation also mentioned that disagreement happened for preparing Atlas Lions for the finals.

“We came to an amiable agreement to part ways due to divergences on preparations for the World Cup,” the Moroccan federation said.

Halilhodzic has been an outstanding manager for every team he has coached. He is one of the successful coaches and prepared every team towards the qualifiers. His way of training the players is exceptional.

Although, he excluded some of the big names from top teams in the world football. His strict way of training lead to a considerably controversial stories.

Criticism from the Moroccan media

The people of Morocco are happy that the coach Vahid was removed from his position. Everyone is hoping that the new coach is from Morocco as he will be more familiar with the mindset.

Morocco is scheduled to play its first match on Nov 23rd against 2018 World Cup finalist Croatia. The team will also play Belgium and Canada in Group F.
