Early Life

Harry comes from Sheffield, South Yorkshire and was raised in the nearby village of Mosborough. He belonged to a middle-class catholic family. The player has two siblings, among them, Laurence Maguire is also an English Footballer.

He completed his initial studies from the St Mary’s Roman Catholic High School, Chesterfield. Harry Maguire values his friendships and his school. Hull City

Manager Mike Phelan promoted Maguire to first-team status in 2016-17. Manchester United launched a £70 million proposal for Maguire on July 2019. An year after the club backed out of a deal because the same amount was considered too high. They made an improved bid, reported to be around £80 million, which Leicester accepted on August 2. Maguire became the world’s most expensive defender.

 Maguire qualified to play for England, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. He was, however, called up for the first time to the England national under-21 team in November 2012 for a friendly against Northern Ireland.  

According to Danny Wilson “He has incredible maturity for his age; he takes everything in stride and nothing bothers him. I don’t expect this call-up to either because he is such a level headed character.”  

Maguire made his England Under-21 debut in the 60th minute, replacing Liverpool’s Andre Wisdom in a 2-0 win over Northern Ireland Under-21s at Bloomfield Road.
